Our Garden Soils

This book was written by Charles E. Kellogg and published in 1952 by The Macmillian Company, New York. It is a first edition (not stated) Book Club Edition. Kellogg was Chief of the Division of Soil Survey (U. S. Department of Agriculture) and “has long been recognized as one of the world’s most prominent leaders in the field of soil science.” The dust jacket states “This book makes the complex knowledge of soil science available to you for solving the problem of your garden wherever it is - in the city, the suburbs, or the country.” This book is 232 pages long and contains 10 chapters. There are several appendices in the rear with comparison charts, tables and maps, all of which are in black and white. The book measures 8.5 by 5.75 inches. It is tight and in very good condition with slight foxing to endpapers. The dust jacket is complete, it has some foxing on the inside flaps and sun fading on the spine.
