This book, written by Maria Lo Pinto, reveals the mysteries of seasoning and garnishing, which distinguish Italian cookery. A New Yorker of Italian heritage, the author writes about “Nonni’s aroma-filled kitchen where Italian delicacies were prepared, of the olive presses, of the festivals where the whole family gathered to enjoy the menus which were unique to the day.” It is dated 1948 and presumed a first edition. The tan cloth boards are decorated with red and green pictorials of food and wine. It measures 8.5 by 5.75 inches and 222 pages long. Both the book and dust jacket are in very good to almost fine condition. This is a detailed glossary of Italian names and terms as well as a history and definition of each ingredient. This is truly an authentic Italian cookbook.
