in 1950 by JOHN WILEY & SONS, Inc., New York. It has maroon boards with
gold embossed lettering on the spine. It is a third edition. It contains an
estimated 59,000 terms. The preface states “Although this book is design
primarily for chemists and chemical engineers it contains a large number of
terms from related fields of science and hence has proved useful also to physicists,
biologists, geologists, etc.” The book measures 7 by 5.25 and is 541 pages
long. The book is in very good condition with very slight soiling to the page
edges. The spine is slanted approximately 10 degrees.
