Birds of Meadow and Grove

This Charming book “Birds of Meadow and Grove” is dated 1886 and is a first edition. It contains poems edited by Susie Barstow Skelding and is illustrated by Fidelia Bridges. The publisher is White, Stokes & Allen, New York. The cover of this book is made of a folded, deckled edged, textured paper and there is a printed celluloid type plate attached with thread. There are only 24 pages (12 leaves), not numbered, which are folded with a cord holding the book together. The colored bird illustrations; YELLOW BIRDS AND MULLEIN, ROBINS AND APPLE-BLOSSOMS, BLUE-BIRDS AND MORNING-GLORIES, and SNOW-BIRDS AND ROSE-HIPS are beautiful. The book measures 8.25 by 9.25 inches. Two tips of the corners of the cover are missing and there is some soiling to the front and back covers. The inside is toned but in good condition.
