This book deals with Famous Battles of the Nineteenth century described by Archibald Forbes, George A. Henty, Major Arthur Griffiths, and other well-known writers, and deals with battles from the Alamo to Europe to India. It is dated 1904 and is a first edition. It was edited by Charles Welsh. The red cloth boards have a printed green, white and black pictorial of two soldiers. There are nine full-page black and white illustrations depicting battle scenes. The corners are bumped and the spine has sun fading. There is a silver dollar size water stain in the bottom right hand corner that continues through all pages. This is a good reading copy and a fascinating compilation about war.
